The Route:
We start at the Ben Nevis visitor centre, which is 2 miles from Fort William. The mountain path takes us close to Lochan Meall an t-Suidhhe, where we can take a decision if we want to take a little detour to see more of the Loch.

At 700m we start the zig zags indicating a steeper ascent and where the mountain changes from the green vegetated lower slopes to the bare upper scree and rock slopes leading to the summit.

Once at the top of the zig zags the majority of the climb is complete and it is now a steady walk to the summit at 1345m.

We follow the same route back but will be stopping at the pub for a well earned drink before heading back to the car park.
